Believing Is Easy. Knowing Takes Effort

Believing Is Easy. Knowing Takes Effort
#

Believing is easy.
Knowing takes effort—a lot of effort—
and sometimes your entire life.

If you do not believe in something,
no one can help you know that it exists.

If you believe in God,
no one can help you know that God may not exist
in the way you believe, imagine, and interact with Him.

What Effort Can Achieve
#

Whatever you want in life,
you may be able to achieve through your efforts—
provided your efforts,
the grace and support of elders, society, and powerful people,
your fate,
and your sustained earnestness
all coordinate together.

But all of this is not in your control.

That is Samsara—
the world of objects, achievements, circumstances, and relationships.

What Effort Cannot Buy
#

You can never attain lasting peace, compassion, clarity, and Mukti
merely by running outside and acquiring more.

For that, you need to learn the art of becoming still,
reflecting,
and thinking deeply.

Nitya-Anitya Viveka—
the discrimination between the eternal and the non-eternal—
is essential.

It is not merely your actions aimed at acquiring
worldly objects, achievements, and relationships
that can take you there.
